Home of The Mission Diocese of Saint Nicholas

The Mission Diocese of Saint Nicholas is an autocephalous jurisdiction within the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church of Jesus Christ.   We are Catholic Congregationalists and celebrate our connection to the wider Body of Christ by our membership in the International Council of Community Churches.

Currently a small jurisdiction serving the East Coast of the continental United States of America, the Mission Diocese works with people who find themselves with pastoral care needs that cannot be adequately met in their local congregations, as well as people who are not attached to a local church and are not sure where to turn.

Under the direction of our bishop, the clergy of the mission diocese minister in hospice and hospital chaplaincy, elder services, bereavement care and follow-up, recovery and addictions counseling as well as many other types of “ad hoc” pastoral care following the admonition "do what needs to be done."

The Mission Diocese of Saint Nicholas maintains connection with the Church Universal by way of its membership in the International Council of Community Churches (ICCC).   To read more about the ICCC please follow the link...

A PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

O God, in baptism you call each of us by name, making us members of your people—the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.   We praise you and thank you for your gifts.   We ask that your Holy Spirit may strengthen us to live in love and service to others, after the example of Your Son, Jesus.

Look in particular with love upon the Mission Diocese of Saint Nicholas and bless our works with the servant ministers we need to fulfill our call.   Choose for us an abundant harvest of dedicated disciples for service—lay ministers and ordained clergy, chaplains and missionaries, healers and other caregivers, and even folks called to ministries we have yet to imagine.

We pray that those you call may never lose awareness of the dignity and need of their vocation.   Continue to bless and strengthen those who have already responded to your call, sustain those who are in discernment about their call; and, we humbly ask, push a little the ones who are fighting their call [as they are probably the ones we need most].

We ask this, and all things, through Christ our Lord, Amen.
